Like any nerd, I love gear and the software that runs on them. Here is a running list of the gear that I own and use.
Hardware

Computing
My primary machine is a 2020 13” M1 MacBook Air. When I’m at a proper desk, I have it hooked up to a 27" LG external monitor, a Magic Keyboard, and a Magic Mouse. I also have an M1 iPad Air that I use as a secondary computing device. Finally, I have that one Brother laser printer that everyone should have.

For my mobile device, I have an iPhone 14 Pro on T-Mobile. I carry around Airpods Pro 2. For long plane trips or if I want a more immersive experience, I use my Airpods Max in White. I also wear a Nike Apple Watch Series 6, 44mm in Aluminum. My backpack is from Patagonia. I got it for my birthday and it’s awesome.
We have an Xbox, a Nintendo Switch, and a PS5. I also have an SNES Mini that I modded and have added a few games.
And finally, we use a Google WiFi as our router, using OpenDNS of course. We have numerous HomePod minis throughout our house and a Sonos Beam and a pair of Ikea Sonos Symfonik shelf speakers as surrounds ~~(these are a bargain)~~. Unfortunately, these have been discontinued.
Photography
I’ve always been interested in photography. My first camera was a Canon Powershot A40. Nowadays, I shoot with a Canon 70D (link goes to updated 80D). I got it as a videographer kit so it came with a lens and Rode mic. I have two tripods, a Slik Sprint Pro and a small handheld one by Manfrotto.
To carry around my camera gear, I use an InCase Sling camera bag. And to carry it on myself when I’m using it, I use a Luma Labs loop.
Podcasting
I cohosted a podcast that ran from 2017–2018. During our short run, I collected some gear that I used to record the show.
To record a podcast you obviously need a microphone. I use a Stage Right dynamic XLR microphone from Monoprice routed through a Scarlett 2i2 audio interface. To hear your co-host or guest you are interviewing, you need to hear them, and most importantly, your own voice. I use AirPods Max to do this.
Software
On the Mac and iOS, I use a collection of 1st party and 3rd party apps to get stuff done.
I use Safari as my default browser and use DuckDuckGo for search. I use Spark to check email. I use Things to try and organize my tasks. We’re Apple Music subscribers and I use Overcast to listen to podcasts.
